The South Carolina Gamecocks had their shot, and was denied, as did the Florida Gators, who also failed, now it is the Kentucky Wildcats turn to try and upset the #1 ranked team in America, LSU.
So far this college football season, one thing that has been learned is that any of this years top twenty five teams can be upset at any time. One team that has avoided the upset bug is the LSU Tigers, and that is why they are #1 in all the polls.
The Tigers are coming off an emotional roller coaster of a game against the Gators, and that is cause for concern for coach Les Miles as he prepares his team for another tough opponent in Kentucky.
The Wildcats had their unbeaten season come to an end last week when they lost to South Carolina, and now they look to stay in the SEC championship race with what would be a statement win over the Tigers.
Even though Kentucky dropped all the way to #17 in the latest polls, they know that a win this week can push them right up to the top of the SEC.
Former Wildcat alumni Joe Triscone summed up the feelings heading into this weeks game, “We know they are the best team in the country, but their coming to our house and we’re gonna have something waiting for them.”
Both teams will, indeed, be ready, and the team that executes will take one step closer to their goals of conference and national championships.
